Came here on a Wednesday evening for an early dinner; had to be early since they close at 6pm. Place is clean and spacious, nothing fancy. Service is quick and decent. Portions are large. I don't know if it was authentic or not but everything was quite yummy. The fried pork belly was crisp, juicy and meaty. The garlic rice was flaky and had just the perfect amount of garlic and seasoning. It was so good and one could eat it with nothing else and still be happy. The green beans with kalabasa had a creamy coconut sauce that was delicious. The sizzling sisig was fried perfectly. We enjoyed everything. We will be back and do recommend.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating with our requests. Good sense of humor, pleasant dining experience.
A very established Filipino spot that always satisfies when I'm hankering for a teslogs, or noodles, maybe a pork dish, definitely a bbq stick or two, etc, etc, etc. Service is prompt and friendly and helpful. I overheard our waiter help the table behind me with what dishes on the menu were good introductions to the cuisine. And as for the ambiance, much like the food, it's no nonsense comfort and cozy.
When it comes to Filipino food, chibog is my go-to spot. When I have friends who've never had Filipino food, this is where I go. It's solid, tasty, and big portions. Chibog has my favorite pork sisig, it's a good mix of crispy and soft pieces. The crispy short ribs, unmatched, especially with the soy sauce/vinegar sauce, chefs kiss. On my latest visit I stopped in for a quick lunch. I got the lechon kawali silog. It came with a generous serving of deep fried pork belly, hefty mound of garlic rice, and two over easy eggs. For $22 after tax and tip, it's well worth every penny. The staff here is so nice, and treats you like family. It's a smaller restaurant so there can be a wait, but during lunch time it's usually easy to snag a table. Long story short, if you are craving Filipino food, this is a spot worth checking out
Wow oh wow. The best Filipino food we've ever had all at one place. We're from San Diego and sure, we've tasted good Filipino food but never all of our favorite dishes from one place. -Pancit palabok -Oxtail Kare kare -Sinigang - bangus belly -Sizzling sisig -Garlic Rice I am usually not a fan of kare kare. It's either too peanuty or too thick/runny. It's just perfect consistency and taste great here. The sisig is also crispy and not too salty. The sinigang had so much fish. Everything was delicious and food came out fast.
This place is always filled with people no matter what time of day I go. Most recently, I ordered to-go on a Sunday evening. After 40 minutes, I was able to pick up in my order in the packed restaurant with seating for around 30. The setting of the restaurant allows for the focus to be on family and friends; there are no major decorations or fancy seating. I ordered the Fried Lumpia and Pork BBQ Silog this time. Trying the Fried Lumpia for the first time, I enjoyed the crispiness and texture of the lumpia. The silogs are always so flavorful, and I am unable to finish one in one sitting (possibly due to its grease, but delicious nonetheless). It's hard to find good Filipino food in San Francisco. When I have the craving, I have to make my way to Chibog in Daly City to satisfy it, and it truly satifies my craving every time.
Oh man, I was craving Filipino food and was meeting a friend over the bridge so decided to check out Chibog located in Daly City. I am Filipino so every time I go to a restaurant like this, I'm going to be critical. Upon walking in, you are hit with the aroma of Filipino food and there were so many people in the restaurant. This is always a good sign but wow it was so hot. So this is a rare occurrence in Daly City as it is mostly foggy and cool weather. Well, we happened to go during a heatwave so that's on us. Granted, the restaurant did have a huge fan going and left the doors open so that made it a bit tolerable. I was mostly craving silog which is a dish of meat, rice and egg. We ended up ordering Bangsilog (fried fish), Tosilog (sweet grilled pork) and Lechon. It did not disappoint. I definitely got my fix and I would give everything a 4/5. The Lechon was good but the skin wasn't that crispy which I was a bit disappointed in. Service was excellent as Tito (uncle in Tagalog) kept coming around with a big smile asking if we needed anything else or would fill up our waters. I am kicking myself for not ordering halo halo when he recommended it. It would have been a nice cool treat but we were so full after our yummy meal! Definitely will be back to try the sisig and halo-halo.
Hidden gem in Daly City for some authentic Filipino food It is tucked away behind the Benz dealership, so keep an eye out on the turn into the plaza! We ordered the following to share family style: -combo (pork and chicken) sizzling sisig - got a whole mound of meat and it sure came out sizzling -kare kare with extra veggies and bagoong on the side - note the bagoong is an extra charge, along with extra veggies. The oxtail was very tender and the peanut sauce wasn't overly peanut-y -bam-I- combination of vermicelli and canton noodles -garlic rice bowl - the garlic was very subtle, so it's good if you don't like strong garlic flavors -Laing - taro leaves cooked in coconut milk; I was told this was on of the few restaurants that served this so I had to try it. The taste wasn't what I was expecting, and it had a very earthy taste. I'm glad I tried it, but it wasn't my cup of tea. It is a small restaurant with plenty of seating. My friends and I went on a Wednesday during lunch and we were the first to be seated. There is plenty of parking in the plaza, so don't need to worry about that
Chibog is a no thrills Ambiance which meant they were all about the food. Filipino restaurant Mecca in my opinion lol I had Longanisa Silog Plate with garlic rice. The sauge was just the right balance of sweet and savory and the garlic rice was a hole in one paired with it . The Lumpia Shangha which was Like a taquito filled with pork Goodness crispy and flavorful. The Sizzling Sisig which Was chopped tender pork with onions, bell peppers and jalapenos and various spices. It was delicious dish they didn't miss. The service was fast and responsive & the portions were massive and the prices were on point. I would definitely want to visit there again
